Following the success of the ‘4 for £40’ deal over the festive period, The Winton Arena saw a 33% rise in attendance and a major increase in the number of travelling fans for away games.
The home game against Weymouth Town on the 22nd December saw an attendance of 2,657 which was a 23% increase from the gate the week before against Metropolitan Police. Similarly, the New Year’s Day fixture against Poole Town saw a record attendance set for The Winton Arena with 4,500 fans coming through the gates to watch the Wanderers come out victorious.
For this to continue, should the club continue to promote deals to attract existing and news fans to the arena? With Bournemouth University only a two minute walk from the ground, Wanderers could tap into the vast amount of students in the surrounding areas through reduced ticket prices for student tickets. Bundle deals ensure fans come back week in week out to support the Wanderers which was evident through the festive period.
More fans could be vital in the New Year and for the run in for the end of the season as the Wanderers look for back to back promotion and cup success.
